SIMATIC control system applications in oil drilling

    Summary (Abstract) With the application of electric drive drilling rigs in the oil field's popularity, as the core of the PLC control and communications applications, more and more widely. In this paper, glue stick oil drilling equipment, concrete examples of the control system, outlines the system integration using Siemens SIMATIC300 design approach.

    1 Introduction.

    The project uses SIMATIC control systems used in ZJ30DB, ZJ50DB,glue gun ZJ70DB variable frequency electric rig. Siemens SIMATIC300 series CPU as the selected frequency electric drill core of the control, PLC and drive communication using Profibus bus. Due to the high reliability and maintenance field operations to bring the complexity of the request, the system has a redundant backup, and remote monitoring.

    2 System description.

    The drilling equipment layout is divided into five regions: the drill floor area, pump house area, power and electric transmission areas, solids control area, tank farm. Drill floor area furnished with winch, wheel, top drive, the driller room, doghouse, etc., as a dangerous work area, the entire region require explosion-proof electrical. Mud pump room area furnished with group electrical infusion systems and fluid manifold; power and electric transmission area furnished with diesel generator room, air purification equipment rooms, auxiliary generator room and electric control room; solid control layout of a mud circulation area tank, mud tank cleaning equipment and packages; tank farm, including tanks, pumps, pipelines. As the drill floor area as a dangerous explosive areas, in accordance with international and national standards, other regions from the hole at least 50 meters in length or more. Complete PLC control system are arranged in the electric control room and the driller rooms, electrical control room which includes two mutually redundant CPU and a ET200M, driller room contains a set of ET200M. Electrical control room furnished with: PLC control cabinet, power cabinets, rectifier cabinet, VFD MCC cabinets and counters. Room set rig driller mechanical, gas, hydraulic control in one, apart from the cabinet contains a ET200M also included the main console and auxiliary console, with drilling operations and drilling parameters in real time display, electrical system operation monitoring and display, sound and light alarm, fault indication and so on. Control system can complete more than 5 600kW motor (including 3 sets of mud pump motor, 1 winch machine and a turntable motor units) between the control and interlocking control; also includes a power cabinets, rectifier cabinet and drill Taiwan sensor data acquisition, control and alarm, fault display. In the drilling process, the reliability of the winch and rotary table are higher, and if the winch or wheel failure can not be repaired in a short time, it may cause a large wall collapse incident, which system has a redundant backup.

    3 control system structure.

    Controller with a redundant backup feature and consists of two modules SIMATICCPU315-2DP; with ET200M the field input and output points connected to the controller via Profibus bus and the bus through the Profibus communication with the 5 ABB frequency converter; Manager's Office software through the use of SIMATICWINCC S7 communication protocol and control station; and an external controller via MPI port for remote maintenance SIMATICTC35T.

    4 system features.

    Overview whole rig drilling process as follows:

    Winch device is mainly used for lifting, decentralization of mast, base, hook and drill pipe; dial button on the device used to drill the next button and rotating rock drill bit to cut the lead; mud pump mud through the pipe device to exchange high-pressure injection bit, not only of lubrication, cooling the bit role, will also be mixed with rock debris of the mud back to the mud in order to re-use purification systems.

    The entire rig system functions include:

    (1) through Profibus bus S7-300CPU and ABB to achieve communication between the drive to complete the appropriate motor control.
